About the white 2 piece lazy susan pictured above, Nancy Robinson, the owner, writes: "The piece was my grandmother's and I received it sometime in the early eighties. Believe it or not, we have used it as a "catch all" it the kitchen. I put my rings, change, coupons, etc. (you get the picture) in it. For the past 9 years I have become interested in McCoy and Hull pieces. And because of my interest in pottery I thought I would check on the origin and value of the "catch all" piece. I'm not interested in saleing it because it was my grandmother's.
I have spoken with my mother a couple of times about the piece. She and my aunt seems to think that my grandmother purchased two of them new around the early to mid 80's at the "Dollar General Store" in Lafayette, Tennessee. My cousin has the other. She also said at that time the Dollar Store, as they referred to it, sold not only store brands, but also close out items and items from stores that had gone out of business. So I looked up "Dollar General" on the internet and found out that in 1983 and 1985 DG purchased around 300 stores and a warehouse from two other companies, one being Eagle Family Discount Stores. This chain sold groceries and was headquartered in Milan, Illinois.
Ok, why am I giving you too much information? I started thinking my LS might be a reproduction since it was purchased in the mid 80's and your site said the products were manufactured between 1950-1960. What do you think? I do not remember it coming in a box- it could have. I hope this information doesn't mean that ours is a reproduction!!"
